I wasn't sure where to put this, so I put it here. The project I'll be referring too is found here on the forum.
Ok, so I've hit a minor snag! Well, I suppose not really as I'll make a decision by Saturday probably. Anyhow, I need a sewing machine, and I went to Fabricville to look at them. I wasn't impressed. There was one on sale, a "Brother ES2000t" model for 280 dollars, but I didn't jump it despite all the praise the lady was giving it. I really wanted to, but I thought to myself, better have a look and see what else is about. They only sell "Brother" sewing machines it seems. I'll give them a look soon. I was also not all that impressed with the fact that they DO NOT repair at the store. If there are any problems after 10 days of purchase, I need to ship it off to "Brother" company and hope they'll fix it. What a pain. So I was wondering if ANYONE else here had suggestions about where I should go buy a sewing machine for Fur Suit constructions as well as... Plush stuff and T-Shirts and the like. Also costume clothing would be a fun reason to have it too. Bonus points too if you know anywhere I can go to actively take lessons in sewing! I'd love to take a class or two on it just to learn some basics ... not alone... I think that's the one thing I'm coming to the slow realization of here... I'll be doing this alone =P I really want to be creative and work with others! =) _________________ Want my contact info? Please ask me for it, I might give it away! I like to chat with people first.

Update =(
I just found it on Amazon for 100 dollars cheaper =( Just out of curiosity... I'm new to Canada, but is something seriously screwed up? I hit this issue when searching for a Receiver as well... amazon had them for 100 to 200 dollars cheaper and free shipping. What's the deal? _________________ Want my contact info? you can still order stuff from amazon.com, although some carriers won't ship to canada. I doubt you'll pay what you're saving in shipping to, though a guitar I recently bought ended up costing me 140$ in shipping. Amazon said 68$, but then I was hit with 85$ in fees for some reason. gg

It's the import fees basically that will hit you and put it up to the cost of just having bought whatever it was in Canada basically. =( That's what makes me grumble =( I'm probably just going to buy the fur from the site though as I'm having little to no luck finding exactly what I want here at Fabricville. D=
I did end up buying a Kenmore from Sears though. _________________ Want my contact info? Please ask me for it, I might give it away! I like to chat with people first.

Ya we can chat, I've kinda put it on hold though for now. I have a head, and a chest piece. I still need to do work on the head piece though, and figure out how to make a pair of gloves that work. I've also got a pattern to make a "tauren" like kilt! [Yes, fine, whatever.. It's a "skirt" pattern really... grrr] It's just gotten tiresome. I've switched my workbench over to miniature building for the time being, but it's easy enough to flip it back to sewing stuff. _________________ Want my contact info?
